Here we are at the end of February and you are looking for something to do this weekend.  Well, here's some ideas for you.  ~Iris


Now - March 3: Jesus Christ Superstar the Andrew Lloyd Webber epic rock musical at Brunish Theatre.

Now-Feb 24: The Starlings Present: Dinosaurs, an “interactive, puppet-fueled extravaganza” at Northwest Children’s Theater and School for age 3+.

February 23: Zwickelmania. Portland area Breweries offer tours, samples, and specials. No sandals. Free.

Feb  23: The untimed 5K Fun Run is on sidewalks and park trails, followed by a free beer and live entertainment.  Different locations each time.

Feb 24: Worst Day of the Year Ride beginning and ending at Lucky Labrador Brew Pub is a bicycle ride of 4 or 15 or 42 miles with warm treats, a costume contest, and an after party. Helmet required. Kids 12 and younger free.  This was rescheduled to this date because the prior date had the snow, so I guess it was really the worst day of the year....but you couldn't ride.

Feb 20 - March 3: PDX Jazz Festival presents 85 performances by internationally recognized jazz masters alongside local jazz musicians.  Various locations.

Feb 21 – 24: The Portland Spring Home & Garden Show at the Portland Expo Center.   Home-improvement vendors, dining-room exhibits, garden displays, and thousands of plants. Children age 12 and younger are free.

Feb 21 – 24: Newport Seafood & Wine Festival offers food, wine, and crafts for sale. Buy tickets online. 21+.

Feb 22 – 24: Oregon Agate & Mineral Show in OMSI Auditorium. Free except parking.  30 exhibits of beautiful Northwest rocks. There’s also a Kids Corner.

Feb 22 – 24: Wizard World Portland Comic Con at the Oregon Convention Center.  Comic books, sci-fi, fantasy, film, horror, animation, anime, manga, and card games,

Feb 22 – 24: Portland Golf Show in the Oregon Convention Center.  Seminars, vendors, and a free driving range.

Feb 23 (noon): Brewstillery Festival at StormBreaker Brewing.  Sample ideal pairings of beer from 20 local breweries & spirits from 20 Oregon distilleries.

Feb 23 (6 to 11:30 p.m.): The Prohibition Party features vintage food, craft cocktails, and dancing to live “jazzy sounds of the 1930s” at Circa 33. “Period dress is strongly encouraged.”

Feb 23: Polar Plunge on Broughton Beach.  Watch people run into the frigid waters of the Columbia River for charity.  God bless 'em.
