Stones Give 'Bittersweet Symphony' Back to The Verve

May 23, 2019

Frontman for The Verve, Richard Ashcroft, says both Mick Jagger and Keith Richards have given back royalties and rights from the popular 1990's song 'Bittersweet Symphony.'

'Bittersweet Symphony' was a smash hit in 1997, but was accused of sampling four seconds of music from the Stones song 'The Last Time.' The Verve didn't get permission to use the sample and legal bedlahm ensued. Now, it seems like they've smoothed things over.
